पुरुषों के लिए: सूती (Cotton) की साफ धोती (बिना सिलाई वाली) और सोला अनिवार्य है। ऊपरी शरीर पर कोई वस्त्र (शर्ट, टी-शर्ट या बनियान) नहीं होना चाहिए।
महिलाओं के लिए: सूती या रेशमी साड़ी पहनना अनिवार्य है। सलवार सूट या जींस-टॉप में भस्म आरती में प्रवेश वर्जित है।
कालसर्प पूजा में विधि अनुसार 1 से 3.5 घंटे का समय लगता है। नियम: पूजा वाले दिन जातक को उपवास (Fast) रखना होता है, दूध, चाय, कॉफी, ज्यूस आदि या बिना नमक वाले व्यंजन का सेवन कर सकते हे। पूजा पूर्ण होने के बाद गौ दान या गौग्रास के उपरांत ही फलाहार या भोजन किया जाता है। पूजा में नए सफेद रंग के वस्त्र (पुरुषों के लिए धोती-कुर्ता और महिलाओं के लिए साड़ी/सूट) पहनना उत्तम माना जाता है। पूजा के बाद उन वस्त्रों का दान कर दिया जाता है।

The Kaalsarp Puja takes approximately according to the procedure 1 to 3.5 hours. Rules: The person performing the puja must fast (keep a Vrat) on the day of the puja. You can only consume food/fruits after the ritual is completely finished. It is highly recommended to wear new white clothes (Dhoti-Kurta for men, Saree/Suit for women), which are traditionally donated after the puja.
Yes, physically attending the puja at the Mangalnath Temple in Ujjain yields the best results as it is considered the birthplace of the planet Mars.
